Church Doctrine

At Fannin Road Baptist
Church we believe:
God's word is
pure and without error and that holy men wrote as they were moved by the Holy
Spirit (Psalm 12:6, II Peter 1:21).
God has
preserved His word pure throughout the generations and the King James
Bible is the preserved Word of God for the English-speaking people.
Salvation is a
free gift of God, completely separate from works. It is based
completely on the finished work of Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-10).
Christ's death,
burial, and resurrection; as well as His shed blood, are literal events that
actually happened to secure the believer (I Corinthians 15:1-4).
Water baptism is
by emersion after salvation and is an ordinance given to the local church.
The Lord's
Supper is done in remembrance of Jesus and as a time of self-examination
and is an ordinance given to the local church.
The local church
is independent in practice and doctrine.
