Sinner, What you Gonna Do? (Marvin Morrow)
It is our hope and prayer that all who read this have a good, close personal relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
I John 5:13 says, “These
things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God;
that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and
that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” Eternal life is
something we can be sure of. We can know we have it just as sure as we know
our name. Eternal life is a life with God in a beautiful place called
heaven that is described several places in scripture. The only other
eternal choice we have is eternal death, which is being alive but separated
from God in a place of torments and without hope. You can choose right now
which eternal destiny will be yours.
“Wherefore, as by one man [Adam] sin entered
into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that
all have sinned” Romans 5:12. We are all sinners simply by being
born into this world. The sin of Adam is passed to everyone.
“Therefore as by the offence of one [Adam]
judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of
one [Jesus] the free gift came upon all men unto justification of
life” Romans 5:18. Just as we are made sinners by one man, we can
also be saved from that sin by one man.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the
Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him
from the dead, thou shalt be saved” Romans 10:9.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and
that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any
man should boast” Ephesians 2:8-9.
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the
Lord shall be saved” Romans 10:13.
Yes, it's
just this simple!
If you have never asked Jesus to save you, or if you’re
just not sure if you have eternal life, then now is the time to make that
decision for your eternal soul. “Behold, now is the accepted time;
behold, now is the day of salvation” II Corinthians 6:2c.
It’s a free gift and very simple to do. All you need to do
is pray to God. Let Him know that you realize you are a sinner, lost and
separated from Him by the sin nature of all humanity. Let God know you
believe the Bible and that God sent His son Jesus to pay the penalty for
your sin. Tell God you are putting all your trust and faith for salvation
on the finished work of Christ on the cross. Finally, thank God for His
free gift and for His love and for sending His son.
If you have prayed a prayer similar to the paragraph
above, then you have eternal life and can claim the verse in I John 5:13
quoted at the start of this page. Your salvation is secure and steadfast.
You are one of God’s children, a new creature in Christ, and covered by the
love of God and your sins are under the blood sacrifice of Jesus (Colossians
1:14-15). Nothing can take away your salvation and you can’t lose it
through acts of your own. It is a gift from God that He won’t take back. “For
I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor
principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor
height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from
the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 8:38-39.
If you've taken these steps, we would love to hear from you. Please send us an email and share the good news of your salvation.
